What is a chrome rod?

Chrome-plated rod is a kind of bar products, is in the silver steel on the surface after plating, the formation of a layer of hardness of 60-64 chromium element of the bar, the surface of the formation of chromium plating layer has good wear resistance, good corrosion resistance, good heat resistance, corrosion resistance and strong light reflection characteristics.
The chrome plated rod is generally made of 45 steel and 40Cr steel as its material. Generally speaking, chrome plated rods of different materials have different functions. For example, 45 steel chrome plated rod has good mechanical properties, high strength and good machinability. Especially when it is tempered or normalized, it can obtain better cutting performance, strength and toughness. After proper heat treatment, 40Cr steel chrome plated rod can obtain certain toughness, plasticity and wear resistance. Of course, the chrome plated rods using these two materials have high hardness.
